1. What is KETA?

KETA (Korea Electronic Travel Authorization) is a visa-free entry procedure implemented by the South Korean government since 2021.

Once approved, KETA is generally valid for 3 years and can be used repeatedly within this period.

However, KETA approval must be obtained before boarding an aircraft or ship. As the approval process takes time, it's advisable to complete the application at least 72 hours before departure.

Individuals with KETA approval are exempt from filling out an entry declaration form upon arrival.

Results can be available as quickly as the same day of application. Since KETA is an authorization process, the outcome can be either 'approved' or 'not approved'.

2. Countries That Can Enter Korea Without a Visa

Note: The permitted stay duration varies by country, ranging from 30 to 90 days.

3. Who Can Apply for KETA?

① Individuals who do not currently hold a valid South Korean visa.

(If you already have a valid Korean visa, your existing visa's rights and duration take precedence even if you obtain KETA)

② Those entering for tourism, visiting relatives, attending events or conferences, or business purposes (excluding profit-making activities)

③ Individuals planning short-term stays for commercial or tourism purposes
